Erica Popovsky, MD is an attending in pediatric emergency medicine and serves as the Medical Director of Emergency Preparedness at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Her academic interests include pediatric emergency preparedness, critical care delivery in the emergency department, and simulation. She is passionate about simulation development for mass casualty incident response and how interdisciplinary teams can best prepare for low-frequency, high-stakes events. She is involved in local, regional, and national preparedness work through the Chicago Healthcare System Coalition for Preparedness and Response, Region V for Kids Disaster Center of Excellence, the Pediatric Pandemic Network and the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Children and Disasters.
