Savannah Hestmark, RN, BSN, CPEN
Savannah Hestmark, BSN, RN, CPEN, is a certified pediatric emergency nurse and the Nurse Manager of the Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center at Children’s National Hospital. She serves as Lead for Operations, Education, and Training for the Children’s High‑Risk Pathogen (CHiRP) Team, Region III’s Pediatric Regional Emerging Special Pathogen Treatment Center.
Savannah’s work strengthens hospital emergency response, high‑risk pathogen preparedness, and disaster readiness through targeted training, realistic exercises, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She co‑founded Children’s National’s Disaster Response Team, leading development of decontamination and mass‑casualty training that enhances frontline readiness and response coordination.
Passionate about systems improvement, Savannah focuses on practical, scalable solutions that protect both patients and staff, and she routinely partners across clinical, public health, and emergency management disciplines to embed resilience into everyday care and crisis operations.
