Simone Lawson, MD, MEd, FAAP, FACEP

Simone grew up in Charlotte, NC and attended both undergrad and medical school at UNC Chapel Hill. She moved to New Orleans for Pediatrics residency (Children's Hospital New Orleans) and stayed a couple more years working in two of the pediatric EDs there. She was thrilled to move back home to Charlotte for PEM fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center (now Atrium Health). During fellowship she had great mentors in ultrasound - so much so, that she decided to pursue another fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine Ultrasound, which is what brought her to Washington, D.C. and Children's National. Since working at Children's National, she has completed the Master Teacher and Leadership Development Program and received her Master's of Education at GWU in 2023. She is currently Program Director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Ultrasound fellowship.
