Dr. Cindy Colson is a pediatric nurse practitioner with the Child & Adolescent Protection Center (CAPC) at Children’s National Hospital. She also holds an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

With nearly two decades of pediatric healthcare experience, Dr. Colson has worked in critical care, trauma performance improvement, education, and outreach. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins University, where her scholarly project focused on improving procedural pain assessment in pediatric burn patients.

Dr. Colson is deeply committed to serving vulnerable populations and is passionate about using research and data to drive meaningful change. She values interdisciplinary collaboration and strives to break down silos in healthcare, ensuring that patients and families remain at the center of every decision and initiative.
