Building Resilient Pediatric Telemedicine Capabilities for Emergency Situations
The goal of this workshop is to inform and educate PPN hub Children’s hospitals on the critical role of telemedicine in pediatric emergency and disaster preparedness and response. Participants will gain foundational knowledge of telemedicine capabilities, learn how to integrate telemedicine into institutional disaster plans and explore real-world case examples of provider-to-provider telemedicine use in emergencies. By the end of the activity, the target audience will be able to: - Understand telemedicine basics and their application in pediatric emergency care - Utilize tools such as the PPN dashboard to support emergency preparedness - Apply lessons from expert discussions and case studies to strengthen disaster response strategies - Collaboratively develop telemedicine components to embed into their hospital's emergency preparedness plans. This will enable healthcare teams, administrators and preparedness coordinators to improve readiness, coordination and patient care safety during pediatric emergencies.
