2026 KY Ped Disaster Symposium - Day 3
The goal of the Pediatric Disaster Symposium is to share educational information and skills practice with first responders, hospital and emergency management personnel. The target audience will learn clinical and operational skills and information to implement in their practice to better prepare for disasters and the families and children involved.

Learning Objectives
- Identify key gaps in pediatric disaster preparedness within emergency departments and pre‑hospital systems, including deficiencies in planning, equipment, and training.
- Apply principles of interprofessional coordination to improve communication, resource sharing, and operational alignment during pediatric mass‑casualty incidents.
- Integrate national pediatric readiness standards into local disaster planning to enhance system‑level preparedness and response capacity.
- Describe evidence‑based strategies for early pediatric resuscitation, including indications, benefits, and operational considerations for pre‑hospital blood product delivery.
