Eileen Klein, MD, MPH

My passion is improving care for previously healthy and medically complex children with acute illness and injury. In my roles as an Emergency Physician, Professor and Vice Chair of Pediatrics, Associate Head of the Division of Emergency Medicine and Co-Director of Research for the Division of Emergency Medicine, I have been a leader and mentor to investigators in the ED setting and have authored over 160 peer reviewed publications. My role as PI for the Seattle Texas Los Angeles Research Node (STELAR) in the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) is illustrative of my commitment to advancing science and mentorship of investigators. This is also illustrated by my role as PI for the CDC sponsored New Vaccine Surveillance Network (NVSN) studying vaccine preventable and potentially vaccine preventable respiratory and diarrheal diseases in the ED setting. I have experience mentoring trainees and faculty.
