Kristin Kim, MD, PhD
Dr. Kim is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician who specializes in the care of acutely ill and injured children. She began her academic career studying physics and received her PhD in Physics from Dartmouth College. Her medical training included earning her M.D.at the Chicago Medical School / Rosalind Franklin Health Sciences University. She then completed her residency in Pediatrics and her fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan and is now a huge U of M fan.
Dr. Kim focuses her administrative and research efforts on improving initial coordinated trauma care for severely injured children. She also has extensive expertise in Disaster Medicine and Emergency Preparedness for children. Her concern for injured children extends to improving the identification and emergency medical care of children who are victims of human trafficking.
Dr. Kim serves on the faculty at University of Chicago / Comer Children’s Hospital as the pediatric emergency department Director for Trauma and the Comer Children’s Hospital Medical Director for MCI and Emergency Preparedness.
