Dr. Burkhart is a clinical child psychologist at UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She is Director of the Pediatric/Clinical Child Psychology Fellowship in the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics and Psychology and serves on the medical leadership team for Rainbow Project ECHO. Dr. Burkhart serves as the ASPR Region V for Kids Behavioral Health Co-Chair and PPN Mental and Behavioral Health Education Subdomain Lead. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders and trauma- and stressor-related disorders. She leads trauma-informed care initiatives in both the pediatric primary care setting and in the Emergency Department. Dr. Burkhart has published and presented widely in the areas of parent training, integrated care, neurodevelopmental disorders, violence prevention and intervention, and disaster mental health.
