Biosketch:
Dr. Gausche-Hill is Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Emeritus faculty at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Senior Investigator at the Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation in Torrance, CA. She is the Immediate past Medial Director for Los Angeles County EMS Agency and Senior Director for the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She is nationally and internationally known as a researcher, educator, and leader in the field of emergency medical services (EMS) and pediatric emergency medicine. She is best known for her study of pre-hospital airway management for children published in JAMA 2000 and her work on the National Pediatric Readiness Project published in JAMA Pediatrics in 2015 and JAMA Network Open in 2021. She served on the Pediatric and Main committees for the National Academy of Medicine’s Future of Emergency Care in the United States Health System. Dr. Gausche-Hill has won numerous national awards for her leadership in emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine and EMS. She is Deputy Editor in Chief of Rosen’s Emergency Medicine Concepts and Clinical Practice, Chair of the American College of Emergency Physicians Emergency Department Accreditation program, Co-Lead of the National Pediatric Readiness Project and Editor in Chief of the Journal for the American College of Emergency Physicians Open.
