Saydi Chahla MD, Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician

Dr. Saydi Chahla, MD, is a dual boarded Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician at Children's Minnesota. She completed her undergraduate degree, medical school, and pediatric residency training at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Chahla is a dedicated researcher and educator who has published academic work on: diabetes, obesity, adrenoleukodystrophy, child abuse and adolescent health. Her clinical experience spans international healthcare systems, having practiced medicine abroad in both Lebanon and Zambia.
In her recent work, Dr. Chahla focuses heavily on pediatric disaster readiness, supported by the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) and the Region V for Kids Eastern Great Lakes Pediatric Disaster Care Consortium. She lectures residents, physicians and clinical staff on evidence-based best practices, triaging guidelines, and training curricula to prepare providers on pediatric care during large-scale public health emergencies and disasters.
At Children's Minnesota, Dr. Chahla also established the Pediatric Resident Disaster Medicine Certification and cofounded the Pediatric Disaster Medicine Preparedness Track for Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellows. In this role, she trains the next generation of pediatric emergency physicians to lead mass casualty incident responses, navigate healthcare coalition logistics, and improve critical health outcomes during regional crises.
