PROFESSIONAL STATEMENT

As the mother of a daughter with complex medical, cognitive, and physical conditions due to a rare genetic chromosomal abnormality, I have learned to navigate complicated and fragmented systems of care for over 19 years. I am committed to helping to improve the landscape of health systems and how they serve families and the community by sharing my lived expertise to improve care, programs, processes, data analysis, funding, and reimbursement models.

In 2015 I began consulting with Arizona’s MCH/Title V Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Program on development of materials, trainings and sharing my lived experience on various councils and stakeholder groups.  Throughout this time, I have helped with Arizona’s Maternal and Children’s Health/Title V Block grant report, application and review as well as consulted with the various programs on increasing family and young adult engagement. In 2023 I added consulting to the Western Regional Alliance of Pediatric Emergency Management and the Pediatric Pandemic Network.  I have been invited to add my lived experience to additional areas including Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Health Care Delivery both in Arizona and nationally.
