Series Description
The Disaster Mental Health: Preparedness and Response to Catastrophic Events Extension for Community Health Outcomes (ECHO) Series presents a unique 6-part virtual series on disaster mental health for pediatric primary care and family medicine clinicians (DO, MD, NP, PA). Biweekly, 60-minute sessions will cover: Signs/Symptoms of Trauma, Psychological First Aid, Anticipatory Behavioral Health Guidance, Brief Pediatric Psychosocial Interventions, Burnout and Compassion Fatigue, and a Panel Discussion on Mental Health Crisis and Safety Planning.
Learning Objectives
- Identify signs/symptoms of trauma, acute stress disorder and PTSD and triage accordingly.
- Apply components of Psychological First Aid when working with patients in the primary care center.
- Describe anticipatory guidance and brief psychosocial interventions that can be implemented in the office visit promote emotional and behavioral regulation and well-being.
