The second DRC session will include a brief presentation by Mercy Kansas City children’s hospital on the response to the shooting in Kansas City and an overview of the recommended components of a tabletop exercise and drill and options and a timeline for monitoring/tracking improvements through facilitated virtual exercises and individual facility drills and managing of reports, outcomes, and achievements.

Objectives:

  • Identify key exercise concepts, including types of exercises and guidance from the Homeland Security Exercises and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
  • Understand the benefits and purpose in a PPN DRC hosted virtual tabletop exercises.
  • Review the timeline to plan/conduct one to two drills to demonstrate improvements specific to the focus area and quality measures/objectives decided on by the team.
